Appeal launched for beaver project

The Scottish Beaver Trial partners are urging the public to support the project by making a donation. A minimum of £750,000 needs to be raised to support the first-ever formal wild reintroduction to the UK.

The Scottish Government has today (Sunday 25 May 2008) announced that it has approved the application by the Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT) and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) to bring back beavers to Scotland.
Beaver licence submitted

The Scottish Wildlife Trust and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland have submitted a licence to the Scottish Government for a trial reintroduction of beavers to Knapdale, Mid-Argyll.
